“From Dumped to Loved: Minnesota Community Comes Together to Rescue and Nurture Abandoned Puppy”

A puppy that was heartlessly abandoned sparked a wave of community support after a curious mechanic found him in a dumpster. The incident occurred outside the Midas Auto Repair where R.J. Cornforth works in Shakopee, Minn. While taking a break, Cornforth heard sounds coming from a nearby dumpster and lifted the lid to investigate. He unzipped a pouch inside the dumpster and found a small tan puppy staring back at him. Shocked by the cruelty of abandoning a puppy in such a manner, Cornforth decided to take care of the pup himself and named him Midas. The Shakopee Police Department reported on Facebook that the little guy had a bacterial infection and a fractured jaw but is expected to make a full recovery. The community has rallied around Midas, donating toys, snacks, kind words, and even cash to support his well-being.

According to shop owner Reed Styve, he has received more phone calls about the puppy than car work today, and it’s been quite hectic. However, instead of accepting monetary donations, he has directed people towards local animal shelters. The Shakopee police department has no leads or suspects yet, but they want to remind the public that there are always humane options available for rehoming pets, especially with the internet and social media readily accessible. Their Facebook post urges people to be kind to animals.
