Ginger tabby cats are loved by people all over the world, and Bazooka is no exception to this. However, what makes Bazooka stand out is his extraordinary size! When he was taken to the Wake SPCA of North Carolina, it took two drivers to transport him because he weighed a whopping 35lbs. Despite his large size, Bazooka remained in high spirits throughout the journey. A five-year-old cat arrived at the Wake County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals with a lot of style, and now he is causing a stir on the internet. It took about two hours to bring the cute kitty from Davidson County. When the staff at the SPCA saw his pictures, they knew they had to take him. Darci Vanderslik, the organization’s spokesperson, said, “They informed us about Bazooka, and once we saw the images, we thought,’We have to get this kitty.'”
Bazooka is a cat who was taken to a shelter after his previous owner, who had dementia, passed away. It is believed that the cat’s obesity was unintentional and a result of being overfed on a regular basis. Bazooka has been placed on a new diet and weight loss plan with his foster family, in addition to receiving emotional healing. The previous owner loved the cat and thought they were doing what was best for him. We should approach this situation with empathy and understanding.
Vanderslik, a spokesperson for the shelter, stated that Bazooka needs to lose 20-25 pounds, as 35 pounds is very heavy for a cat. However, progress is being made one step at a time. Despite his size, Bazooka, a ginger tabby, has been cooperative with his new diet plan. He has a calm and relaxed personality, which is typical of his breed, and is a friendly feline despite his intimidating name. To watch a video about Bazooka, check out ABC30 Action News.
Bazooka has a bright future ahead of him, as he already has a potential new owner. However, there are many other cats available for adoption who also need loving homes. With time and effort, Bazooka’s health will continue to improve as he sheds pounds.
