Benki, a visually impaired pooch, was abandoned in Lara, Venezuela on November 5th. His situation was compounded by the fact that he was also without his right hind limb.

Benki, the male pup, displayed indications of being sexually abused, a common occurrence among canines raised in puppy mills or farms. This highlights the significance of abandoning breeding dogs once they reach their reproductive limits.

Fortunately, the results of the X-ray revealed that Benki did not suffer from any significant internal harm. However, his emotional condition has become a source of worry as he went through a lot of stress during the incident. Once he was found, he immediately became disoriented and started wailing in distress. In order to calm him down, the vet spoke to him frequently to offer solace.

Exciting update – this furry friend is impressively clever! After spending a week at the shelter, his spirits have risen dramatically. In only 10 days of instruction, he has already mastered the skill of detecting the source of sounds.

Benki is now back on his feet and living like a regular pooch. Since he had not been getting enough exercise, his weight had gone up, but his guardian is making sure he stays healthy and happy. By motivating him to climb stairs and providing him with affection, they are keeping him in good spirits. Benki is still looking for a permanent home, but he is well on his way to being cheerful and restored.
