A litter of four little kittens were discovered left behind in a cardboard box, along with a tear-jerking note from their previous owner apologizing for having to give them up. Fortunately, these eight-week-old felines, who have been dubbed after the beloved Monsters Inc. characters, are now receiving loving care from Blue Cross. Sully, Boo, Randall, and Roz had been left without any sustenance and may not have lasted long if they hadn’t been found in time. The team at Blue Cross in Burford is tending to their every need and helping them thrive.
Thankfully, the vet exams have confirmed that they are all in good health and only require standard flea and worm treatments in addition to being microchipped before they can be adopted into new families.
According to Laura Morris, who works as an animal welfare assistant at Blue Cross in Burford, the kittens were quite intimidated when they initially arrived. They spent most of their time hiding and only came out during the day to eat and attend to their personal needs before retreating back into hiding.
Sorry to say, the poor animals were quite overwhelmed after their traumatic experience and it seems like they might have missed out on socialization in their previous home. On the bright side, they’ve found refuge in one of our foster homes where they’re slowly gaining confidence, playing around and breaking out of their shells. Once they’re back to their happy selves, we’ll start looking for their new forever homes. They’re very fortunate to have been rescued because otherwise, things could have taken a turn for the worst. We understand times are tough, but please reach out to us or another animal welfare organization if you’re struggling with your pet. Abandonment leaves them vulnerable to harm, and that’s something we’d never want to see happen.
