Jenny is encountering resistance from the neighborhood.
Jennifer Lopez is receiving harsh criticism for a scene from her movie “This Is Me… Now: A Love Story” — and it’s gaining popularity on the internet.
In the movie, which complements her album with the same title, Lopez reflects on her younger years while relaxing in the gym.

Jennifer Lopez has been receiving some negative feedback from online haters regarding her latest film, “This is Me… Now: A Love Story.” In a short 13-second clip, Lopez, who is 54 years old, playfully runs her fingers through her hair and reflects on her wild teenage years in The Bronx. The singer nostalgically recalls her younger self as a “crazy little girl” who lived without any limits and chased after her dreams. Despite the clip receiving over 10.2 million views on Prime Video, it was met with a flurry of critical comments from trolls on the internet.

In the movie, J.Lo is shown letting her hair loose at the gym and reflecting on how it brings back memories of her younger days. TikTok user @primevideo shared this moment.

“Who would have thought Jenny was a local from the Block,” one user humorously commented.
“I bet she jams out to ‘Jenny from the Block’,” another person teased, mentioning her popular song from 2002.
“This vibe is like pretending to act out scenes when no one’s around,” commented a third person with a smirk.

Some Bronx locals have been expressing their thoughts on the matter, and they’re not happy about it at all. One person from the South Bronx made a video response, stating that JLO’s portrayal of Bronx life is not accurate. They questioned where she was running around and if there was any evidence of her actually being a regular kid in the Bronx. The authenticity of her representation of the Bronx was seriously called into question.

In a follow-up video posted on X, one user decided to be brutally honest and criticized the singer for being dishonest. They mentioned, “This whole act of trying to be relatable and normal isn’t going to fool anyone.”

Furthermore, the user claimed to have been irritated by the singer since their high school days. They pointed out discrepancies in the singer’s past, saying, “I saw your high school photo. Your hair wasn’t like that, and we went to an all-girls Catholic High School in an Irish and Italian neighborhood together.”

The user urged the singer to stop pretending to be something she’s not and to cease using their shared background to appear more human. They expressed frustration, stating, “You don’t represent us. Leave us out of your narrative. We don’t approve of your actions.”

Reportedly, the “Let’s Get Loud” performer recently canceled tour dates without providing a reason. Her upcoming tour “This is Me… Now” is her first in five years, but shows in cities like Nashville, New Orleans, Raleigh, Atlanta, Houston, Cleveland, and Tampa have been removed from the schedule.

Lopez’s latest project, a film and album combo, serves as a follow-up to her successful 2002 release “This Is Me… Then.”
